As VP of Research and Development, Kelly Falter brings with him 20 years of experience in developing highly advanced, innovative hardware and software solutions.
Kelly’s work as a Senior Manager with the E.W. Scripps Company has given him valuable experience working with large, highly complex corporations. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He holds several patents including one for the development of the Micro-miniature Infrared Transmitter for tracking Africanized honeybees, also known as the “Bee Chip,” and over 30 technical publications on various topics. Kelly spent 12 years with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a development engineer with a major portion of his time devoted to the National Security Program Office. While at ORNL, he was involved in various custom integrated circuit designs including the first-ever 48-bit neural network processing element, as well as numerous desktop and Web-based software applications. He received a Martin Marietta Technical Achievement Award for the development of the previously mentioned infrared transmitter, a Significant Event Award for the development of the miniature RF transmitter, a Lockheed Martin Operations and Support Award for development of the Oak Ridge Calibration Recall Program, and an Outstanding Managerial and Technical Performance Award for support of the Navy RADIAC Development Program. Kelly has also been developing software applications for almost 20 years in a multitude of programming languages.
Kelly has founded several small companies in the local area including RIS Corporation; a company that provides highly advanced electronic designs for industry and government; Aardwolf Software Company that later merged with ClickStream, Inc. which developed web-based client-server applications; and most recently co-founded Cadre5, LLC.
